I see children all around me, the buzz of anticipation is high. We are all high spirited waiting for the big man to arrive. There is plenty of party food and drink and we are all happy and loud. He finally arrives and the noise level drops dramatically. We are all waiting to hear our name called and to take the long walk on to the stage. My name is called and I suddenly go shy, I just want to get my present and get the hell out of there. I walk quickly and quietly up to the stage, take my present, thank him and run like the blazes back to Mum. Suddenly brave again I think it wasn’t so bad, what was I worried about. I can’t wait for next year to do it all again.
